APA 2019
American Psychological Association
Role: lead designer
The American Psychological Association’s annual convention attracts more than 10,000 attendees each year, making it one of the premier events in psychology. The 2019 convention focused on the impact psychologists can have through cross-disciplinary collaboration on some of today’s most pressing issues, including gun violence, suicide, and poverty. The event also featured a successful three-day series of main stage presentations, delivering TED Talk–style programming centered on these themes.
The design lead oversaw the concept development and execution of the 2019 brand identity and the management of brand guidelines. Their work spanned a wide range of deliverables, including print and digital advertising, the convention mobile app, and front-end design and cms management for the convention website. Additional responsibilities included email and social media campaigns, the event program, educational and supplemental conference materials, environmental and on-site signage, and branded materials such as attendee bags and staff badges.
