Open Source: Ukraine & The Intelligence Revolution

International Spy Museum
Role: creative director, lead designer

In May 2025, the International Spy Museum launched it’s very first digital exhibit – Open Source: Ukraine & The Intelligence Revolution. The digital exhibit takes visitors through a three-part journey spotlighting the little-known but increasingly ubiquitous practice of open-source intelligence (OSINT), and uses the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict as a case study. This dynamic online resource includes compelling video, digital artifacts, historic and modern examples, and other resources to reveal the major role of OSINT in the first major war in Europe since WWII.

Part I - History of OSINT

Part I introduces the visitor to the definition and applications of OSINT using examples across the globe and in history to help identify a connection.

Part II - OSINT & The War in Ukraine

Part II sets up the historical context and timeline of the Ukraine & Russia conflict and uses specific case studies to identify modern examples of the impact OSINT has on the current unrest.

Part III - Impact & The Future of OSINT

Part III extends the topic beyond the digital exhibit and encourages the visitor to explore further learning through various resources and learning types.
